He is ex-intel and has more than 18 years of experience in immersive media, PhD and 2 Masters in the field from University of Arizona and University of Oklahoma, and more than 25 US patents. He served as the lead editor for the test model of the MPEG immersive video standard. Basel is also a senior member of IEEE and Optica.
